But it is way better than the medication that you take for weeks and then get better. Isn’t it better to manage your symptoms as you suffer from the deadly viral flu or the cold?

    You can consume honey by stirring some of it into warm water to keep the throat safe from friction and coughing. If you add lemon to it, you can add the extra needed vitamin C. It is not difficult to get honey, visit your nearest stores, local markets, or online store to buy it. 

    3. Zinc

    Zinc has been said to be working great when it comes to minimizing the symptoms of flu and cold. It is believed that zinc can prevent rhinovirus. It is the virus that is responsible for the cause of common cold from duplication in the human body. 

    According to the given dose, people should consume zinc in the form of tablets, lozenge, and even syrup. The packing usually has instructions related to dosage. Too much zinc can make you feel nauseated and make your stomach upset with aches. 

    You can visit a pharmacy to get zinc, or can use zinc nasal sprays. But these sprays can cause the loss of smell to some people. 

    4. Echinacea

    The herbal extracts from the echinacea plant can help you with managing colds and getting relief from the flu. It is also proven through a lot of research that echinacea can help in boosting your immune system. Some of them contain antiviral properties and fight well against colds. 

    It can be purchased from the market in the form of tablets. If you are not a fan of tablets then you can get it from herbal tea. 

    5. Vitamin D

    The deficiency of vitamin D, specifically D-3 is said to be one of the major reasons for getting cold and flu. A link has been found where it is clear cut that Vitamin D supplements reduce the chances of colds. 

    People who live in colder cities where the weather is cold all the time, can go for these vitamin D supplements and help themselves from getting caught by the seasonal flu in the cold.
