This has at least partly to do with the plastic construction of the phone. The X8 felt a little cheap in the hand and I didn’t like the big, greasy fingerprints it left on the smooth back, especially on the black model. It certainly looks impressive, with at least three of the four bezels, although the slightly thick chin suggests it’s a cheaper phone than most.
The X8 also doesn’t replace cheap panel tech with a faster 120Hz refresh rate. You’ll be working up to 90Hz here, but that’s more than enough for smooth browsing, and that’s still not powerful enough to push high frame rate games.

In short, Honor X8 is a good smartphone with a 5G network and graphics enhancement for mobile games. With a Snapdragon 680 chip under the hood and a 1080p 90Hz display on the front, this phone offers a smooth and responsive experience without breaking the bank. After spending some time with the X8 and considering its $249 price tag, the phone impressed us. Yes, some parts have been cut out of popular demand, but overall, the package is serviceable for the money.
