5 Awesome Honeymoon Destinations

If you’re getting married, there’s no doubt that you’re racking your brain trying to figure out where to go on your honeymoon. You want to go somewhere that’s going to be meaningful, memorable, and romantic. This is a difficult combination to achieve, but these five honeymoon destinations may just make the cut.

1. Galapagos Islands

Located off the coast of South America, the Galapagos Islands is home to penguins, sea lions, tortoises, hammerhead sharks, and more. Since most of the islands are uninhabited, you’ll be taking a step out of your conventional rural or urban community to see what life is like without human interference in animals’ natural habitats.

As such, the only way you can explore is by looking into cruise packages or by having a local tour company take you to see the beauty of the islands. Learn more about the wildlife by going hiking, snorkeling, or kayaking with guides. These knowledgeable teachers can offer you an unforgettable experience.

2. Masai Mara, Kenya

While this may seem unconventional to many couples, it’s a perfect fit if you and your fiancé love animals and the outdoors. If you’re planning to take your honeymoon between July and October, you’ll have the chance to see Kenya’s Great Migration where wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles make a tough journey to find grazing land and water.

Find some of the most exotic animals in parks and reserves. You’re sure to see the Big Five, which include lions, elephants, leopards, rhinoceroses, and buffaloes. This may be the only chance you get to see these animals in their native land. It’s well worth it.

3. Paris, France

Paris is the most romantic city in the world, which makes it perfect for a honeymoon with your honey. Stroll along cobblestone streets in the Left Bank, and you’ll find a tree that was planted in 1601. Keep walking and you’ll come across numerous cafes to try.

Explore the architecture by checking out Notre Dame and The Eiffel Tower. Visit The Louvre to see some of the world’s most beautiful artwork. These locations will leave you with the loving feeling the city seems to exude.

4. Maui, Hawaii

If you’re getting married in the fall or winter, but you want a summer-like honeymoon, go to Maui because it consistently has hot temperatures. Visit lush beaches where you can walk hand in hand, go snorkeling or take a swim.

If you feel like going on an adventure, take a drive on Haleakala Highway to see Haleakala, one of the largest dormant volcanoes in the world. The drive itself is exciting because you get to travel on a twisty road that has several pull-off areas where you can take amazing pictures.

Perhaps you’re more interested in going hiking. Luckily, Maui has beautiful trails. Some lead to rain forests and waterfalls while others take you to see amazing wildlife, including rare birds and tropical plants. Make sure you pack your walking shoes!

5. Aspen, Colorado

Most honeymooners prefer going to a place where it’s sunny and hot. However, you might be interested in going to a winter wonderland instead. If that’s the case, consider traveling to Aspen anytime from December to February. Naturally, hotel prices increase during this time but don’t let that hold you back if your dream is to have your honeymoon on the slopes.

Think about what you’ll be missing if you don’t go. You won’t get to try out the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster, take skibob lessons or go ice skating. Most importantly, you’ll miss out on skiing and snowboarding in the fresh powder. It’s an experience you won’t forget.

You’re definitely going to have an unforgettable time regardless of where you go on your honeymoon Even if the location isn’t your top pick, you can still make it into a memorable experience. After all, your honeymoon is the first of many vacations you’re going to take with your spouse. The most important thing to remember is that you’re getting to spend time together as a married couple. As long as you have each other, wherever you decide to go is simply a bonus.
